To\nmeet these evolving expectations, we had fully\nintegrated all our global operations, except\nSukari, into the Gold Bar Integrity (GBI)\nprogramme. Integration of Sukari is scheduled\nfor completion in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GBI programme is a transformative industry-led initiative developed by the World Gold Council (WGC), of which we are a member, and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA). It utilises a secure, immutable blockchain-based database to register and track gold bars across the entire supply chain. By creating a \u2018digital twin\u2019 for every bar produced, the platform provides a verifiable record that the gold was responsibly mined, refined, and traded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our participation in this initiative is a natural extension of our commitment to the Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs) and further enhances our compliance with the WGC Conflict-Free Gold Standard. By digitising our supply chain, we have moved beyond manual due diligence to a system that automates risk identification and flags potential issues in real-time. This proactive approach ensures that our gold remains part of a trusted ecosystem that excludes illicit or nefarious actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The implementation of the GBI platform followed a structured, phased approach across our diverse geographic portfolio. This began with our Africa BU, where all operations were brought online by late 2024. These sites now achieve a \u2018miner-refiner handshake\u2019 by sharing real-time provenance data directly with Rand Refinery, a long-standing GBI partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Argentina, our Cerro Vanguardia operation\nsuccessfully integrated with the Argor-Heraeus\nrefinery in Switzerland, which was already active\non the GBI platform. Similarly, in Brazil, we\nimplemented the technology across our AGA\nMinera\u00e7\u00e3o and Serra Grande (sold to Aura\nMinerals Inc effective 1 December 2025)\noperations. This included the onboarding of our\nown Queiroz Refinery, allowing us to provide\ndownstream markets with full chain-of-custody\ndocumentation for our refined products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our journey concluded in the first half of 2025\nwith the onboarding of our Australian operations,\nSunrise Dam and Tropicana, which are capturing\nprovenance data on the GBI platform, ahead of\nsharing with our Australian refiner, pending its\ndecision to adopt the platform. Once this\nhappens, 100% of our managed production will\nbe digitally tracked. This end-to-end coverage\nacross four continents demonstrates our\ncommitment to a standardised, global approach\nto transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Post-implementation support was provided\nacross all operations to ensure the system was\nfully embedded within standard operational\nprocesses, with further optimisation planned for\n2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Internally, the transition was managed by a multidisciplinary project team comprising experts from corporate, operations, treasury, and digital technology in conjunction with aXedras which\ndeveloped the platform. The aXedras Bullion\nIntegrity Ledger, a system based on enterprise\nblockchain technology, provides a high level of\ndata security while maintaining the confidentiality\nof sensitive ownership information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond mere compliance, the GBI platform offers\nsignificant operational efficiencies. By using a\nsingle portal to exchange assay results and\nprovenance documents, we have streamlined our\ninteractions with refiners and logistics providers.\nThis digital transformation reduces the\nadministrative burden on our sites while\nenhancing the accuracy and timeliness of our\ndata flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through this initiative, we are not just producing\ngold, we are providing peace of mind to everyone\nwho purchases our product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rand Refinery supports next level\ndigitisation through Gold Bar Integrity\nplatform<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rand Refinery, a world-class refiner and LBMA\nGood Delivery Refiner and Referee, also makes\nuse of the blockchain technology-based Bullion\nIntegrity Ledger\u2122 \u2013 a single, secure, digital\nsupply-chain solution which ensures the\ncombination of efficiency, integrity, traceability\nand confidentiality of data and business\ntransactions. After joining the aXedras platform\nin May 2024, Rand Refinery officially went live on\nthe Gold Bar Integrity platform in August 2024,\nenabling end-to-end visibility of gold deposits\nfrom mine to product through detailed\nprovenance records and integrity certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an early-adopting refinery, Rand Refinery has actively contributed to the successful adoption of the aXedras platform by assisting some of its depositing customers with end-to-end testing. This ensured a smooth onboarding experience and reinforced Rand Refinery\u2019s collaborative approach to advancing digitisation in the precious metals supply chain. The refinery also\nsupported several bullion banks with end-to-end\ntesting on the platform during onboarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rand Refinery issued its first digital certificate indicating the origin of sourced materials and chain of custody for a specific product range in 2019 and since then has developed a range of gold products to further support transparency, integrity and responsible sourcing among precious metal market stakeholders.
