Climate action and resilience
Climate change is not only an environmental issue. Its cross-cutting nature means that it affects almost every dimension of our business. We have a role and responsibility to identify and address climate-related risks, and join forces with others – in business, in government and in communities themselves – to take climate action and work to ensure our resilience against the future impacts of climate change.
In doing so we recognise that we must consider and plan for far more than our direct impact on climate change through reduction of our GHG emissions. Our strategy encompasses the effect of a changing, variable climate, and related extreme weather on AngloGold Ashanti and our operations, as well as on our employees, our communities, and the countries in which we operate. It also seeks to ensure that we have a role to play in improving our resilience and theirs to these effects.
